Distributed Analytics and Security Institute Merges into CCI

December 15, 2017

DASI to CCIIn order to globally sharpen its research focus on cybersecurity, Mississippi State University is merging the Data Analytics and Security Institute into the Center for Cyber Innovation.

In June 2017, MSU announced John A. "Drew" Hamilton, Jr. as interim director of the DASI to oversee the major research institute’s leadership transition. Dave Dampier, the founding Director of DASI was named professor and chair of the Department of Information Systems and Cybersecurity at the University of Texas-San Antonio.

All of MSU’s research centers and institute have their own unique missions, the work of DASI and CCI were very complimentary and the current administration found it beneficial in combining business operations, resources and talent acquisition into one valuable cybersecurity research organization, which allows MSU to offer a wider range of research services and capabilities to government, industry and corporate entities.

The Center for Cyber Innovation is part of the High Performance Computing Collaboratory at Mississippi State University. CCI develops cutting-edge solutions for Defense, Homeland Security and the Intelligence Community. The primary focus of CCI is to research and prototype new and novel cyber solutions that support global national security, homeland security and peacekeeping operations.
